The Spider DVD

Faceless bodies are washing up on the shore and no-one seems to care much about it. The black market is thriving and an ambitious and tenacious young journalist, Bjarne Madsen, begins following a trail of corruption that leads directly to a violent and ruthless underbelly with links to the highest levels of government and business.

The Spider takes the viewer deep into the corrupt heart of post-war Denmark and gives viewers a lesson in the darkness that can fester when war divides a country.

The Spider evokes Raymond Chandler by way of Lars Von Trier. Directed by Ole Christian Madsen, one of the Copenhagen School's leading talents, The Spid'0t is a modern day film noir classic.

The cast is led by Lars Mikkelsen and Jakob Cedergren and the supporting cast features well-known Danish actors, many now familiar to Australian and NZ viewers through Unit One, The Killing and The Bridge. Regularly shown on Danish television since it was made in 2000, it's easy to see why this compelling drama has become a Danish classic.
