In 1977 Australian cinema was rocked by controversy over Tom Cowan's Journey Among Women, a beautiful but brutal depiction of the plight of ten female convicts. Mainstream cinemas across the country heaved as people queued to see this remarkable film. Now for the first time, the incredible Journey Among Women has been fully restored, digitally remastered and proudly presented on DVD.

With the aid of the refined Elizabeth (Jeune Pritchard), the daughter of the colony's judge advocate, ten convict women escape from the fetid hell of a makeshift prison cell, and from the brutality and sexual abuse of their gaolers. In the harsh Australian bush they live in wild harmony, free from the bondage of men. But their peace is short lived, as one by one the Redcoats, led by the sadistic Capt. McEwan (Martin Phelan), hunt them down in a vicious and bloodthirsty slaughter!
