State attorney Monique Lamont, entrusts Win with a case that lies 20 years in the past. The investigator is supposed to re-open the case of a brutal and unsolved murder of an old woman using cutting-edge DNA technology. If her office solves the case, it ought to make them all look good. Another crime is committed Lamont is assaulted at her home. The incidents seem to be connected and the more Win learns about the past case, the more he understands the connections to the attempted murder of Lamont.
