This is the story of the traditional gods of mythological roots, steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods that reflect modern society's obsession with money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.
Season Two finds the battle between Old Gods and New Gods moving inexorably towards crisis point as their destinies collide with those of men. While Mr. World plots revenge for the attack against him in Season One, Shadow throws in his lot with Wednesday's attempt to convince the Old Gods of the case for full-out war.
